FAQs

Q: How long will it take me to complete my course?

A: Since all of the courses we offer are self-paced, you will have as long as you need to complete a course.  Some students may finish a course in a month, while others may take a year.  It all depends on the time you have to devote to learning.  This means less stress for those with busy schedules!

Q: When do courses begin?

A: Courses are always open; students may enroll at any time!

Q: Are the courses online or is there a brick-and-mortar school I can attend?

A: As of now, all courses are exclusively online.

Q: Do I need to purchase any learning materials for the courses?

A: No additional material is required, as all of the material you will need can be found within the curriculum.  The only exception is the herbalist course, where two book reports are required.  Most of the students who complete these do so with books they already had at home.  The requirement is for the books to be herb-related.

Q: Do you offer a certification?

A: You will receive a certificate of completion from The Bitter Herb Academy upon full completion of a course.  Any uncompleted work will result in students not receiving certificates.  No national standard or accreditation exists for herbal programs, but our school is an AHG member school, which opens up limitless opportunities for students who want to pursue a professional career in herbalism.

Q: Will I have access to the instructor if I have questions while taking the course?

A: One of the best things about our school is the communication that students receive when working toward their goals.   Amber Robinson, the instructor, is always there for students and makes it a point to respond to their questions (primarily via email) in a timely manner.

Q: Why are your courses so much more affordable than other schools?

A: Because Amber Robinson has experience with curriculum development (she taught in a classroom setting for over a decade), she did not have to pay anyone to write the curriculum for her.   Cutting out the middle-man has made it possible for her courses to be available at a reasonable price!
